After years of high school coaches wanting no part of the Salinas Jaycee all-star football game, Alvarez coach Ralph Ward has agreed to coach one of the teams.
Ward has reportedly asked Alisal coach Sunil Smith, North Salinas coach Steve Zenk and Salinas coach Steve Goodbody to be a part of his staff for the Jan. 19 annual battle.
This is long overdue for the seniors that take part in this game. It provides creditability to the game.
So who is stepping up and coaching the other side?
